Sporting Licenses

State hunting, sporting and fishing licenses (saltwater included) are available to purchase in the Town Clerk's Office. You can also purchase Primitive Firearms, Duck and Archery Stamps. (Proof of Basic Hunter Safety Training or a prior year's license must be presented).

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR DEER HUNTERS

The Antlerless Deer Permits are now available. Hunters who applied for an Antlerless Deer Permit must return to MassFishHunt to see if they were awarded a permit anytime between now and December 31. 

Archery Extension: A regulatory amendment has been approved to extend the archery deer hunting season by 2 weeks in eastern MA (Zones 10–14).

 Surplus Antlerless Deer Permits: Surplus permits will go on sale in late September.

 Zone 11: Sept. 25 at 8 a.m.

Zone 10: Sept. 26 at 8 a.m.

Zones 9, 13, and 14: Sept. 27 at 8 a.m.

 Wachusett Hunting: DCR recently opened 7,500 acres of land to hunting in the Wachusett Reservoir Watershed. There are two free permit types available. *You must apply by 8/31 for the Controlled Deer Hunt.

Youth Deer Hunt Day: September 29

Paraplegic Hunt: Nov. 1–3

Archery (Zones 10–14): Oct. 1–Nov. 24

Archery (Zones 1–9): Oct. 15–Nov. 24

Shotgun: Nov. 26–Dec. 8

Primitive Firearms: Dec. 10–31
