The Town of Somerset was incorporated in 1790. Records of Births, Marriages and Deaths are on file from 1790 to the present.
Births – We should have certified copies of births that occurred in the State of Massachusetts and if the parents of the child was a Somerset resident at time of birth and the parents signed the birth records indicating they wanted a resident copy to be sent to their home community.
Marriages – Marriage records for persons who filed their Intention of Marriage paperwork are on file in our office.
Deaths – Certified copies of death records are available for anyone who passed away in Somerset or the residence at the time of death was here in Somerset.
OUT OF TOWN AND NEED A COPY OF A VITAL RECORD ? Please send a request by mail, stating the information for the record you need, and where to mail it back to. Enclose a check or money order for $5.00 x the number of copies you need***, made payable to the Town of Somerset.
