Department of Public Health Notice regarding EEE, West Nile Virus and spraying - UPDATE 09/06/2019

THE MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH HAS CONCLUDED ALL AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOS THIS YEAR.  BRISTOL COUNTY MOSQUITO CONTROL WILL BE SUSPENDING ALL GROUND BASED SPRAYING ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2019.  AS OF TODAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2019, RESIDENTIAL REQUESTS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED.  THEY WILL BE TARGETING OUTSTANDING REQUESTS AND AREAS OF EEE AND WEST NILE VIRUS.  WHEN THE TEMPERATURE GOES BELOW 55 THE SPRAYING BECOMES DEACTIVATED AND WILL NOT WORK, THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE SUSPENSION OF ALL AERIAL AND GROUND SPRAYING.

CONTINUE TO LIMIT OUTDOOR ACTIVITY BETWEEN DUSK AND DAWN, WEAR LONG SLEEVES AND PANTS, REMOVE ANY STANDING WATER, FIX SCREENS, AND USE INSECT REPELLANT.
