The Somerset Board of Selectmen is comprised of three members, each elected to serve a three year term. They are the Chief Elected Officials for the Town and among their many duties, they approve warrants for Town Meeting, implement all votes adopted at Town Meeting, enforce Town bylaws and policies, and appoint members to various committees and boards.
The Board of Selectmen also serve as the Board of Health and the Licensing Board, responsible for issuing such licenses as alcoholic beverage licenses, Class I and Class II car dealer licenses, common victualer and automatic amusement licenses, among others.
Please check the Calendar for Selectmen's Meetings which will be posted by 3:00pm on Friday's. Meetings generally take place in the Captain’s Community Room at the Somerset Public Library Building, 1464 County Street, Somerset, MA. The public is invited and encouraged to attend these meetings. All requested agenda items must be in the office before 12:00 noon on the Friday preceding the meeting. The meetings are available for viewing on Channel 9 Public Access television on Friday evenings at 7:00 p.m.; Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.; and Monday mornings at 8:00 a.m.
