SOMERSET CULTURAL COUNCIL SEEKS FUNDING PROPOSALS
Proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs due postmarked no later than October 15 2015, for organizations, schools and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.
In past years, the Somerset Cultural Council has provided funding to support musical performances, storytelling, drama, poetry, artistic, and dance presentations in our community. Funding has also been provided for field trips through grants for cub scouts, girl scouts, and other classroom groups to attend culturally related performances.
The Somerset Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community. If you are interested in joining please send a letter of interest to the Somerset Board of Selectmen
